I've never written a DevArt journal before, but there's a first time for everything, right?
I submitted my
Jester Plush to be considered for a somewhat-local art show. (I had to tape him into a shoebox. 0_o It was slightly awkward, but worth it to protect the white fabric while he was being hauled to the show. I just hope they don't assume the box is my art!)
Now I'm anxiously awaiting the result-card to be mailed back to me. It should be coming any day now. I've tried to get something accepted into this show for...well, this is the third year that I've tried.
I hope my plushie makes it in, but not because I need to feel publicly gratified for my art. If it's not what they're looking for, I'm fine with that - it won't change my style. I just think it would be neat to see it in an art gallery, perhaps under a glass case. How official...! ^___^
I doubt the judges see much plush art submitted. It'd be a great way to include textiles in a student show, considering we do nothing with fabric in our curriculum.
So, how do you feel about art shows? Any success stories or bad memories?
Edit: The card came today, and my plush got in! Whoa! ^__________^ I'm pretty excited.
Expect some picture or whatnot of my jester on display to pop up in my scrapbook sometime soon.

I WILL FLY ABOVE HELL
Born to kill,
Black, blue, and bloody fingers
Hong kong hell,
Been time to face this wheel,
Now filthy smooth,
I'll tell the pussy cats,
And ultra pain,
Gonna blow it all away
